My name is Petra Silva and I am a gweagal woman apart of the Dharawal nation, I was born in Sydney and come from the La Perouse Aboriginal community where I have lived my entire life. My maternal grandfathers name was Reginald Sherrett born in Taree and my maternal grandmothers name is Patricia Florence Russell (Sherrett) born in La Perouse. My paternal grandfather is Ron Ridgeway I believe he was born in Macksville and my paternal grandmothers name is Mary Marlene Silva (Megs) she was born in Kempsey.
